Bassendean Renovation
& Extension
This quaint 1960s house was battered and bruised when we found her in 2014 and placed an offer. Battered and bruised, it was taken back to its bones and rebuilt with love.
Our intention was always to restore her to her former glory and we had to convince the council that this was the best option for this block of land. With good structure, however a poor internal layout we knew that we had walls to knock out and walls to build. We extended the original house at the rear and added the master bedroom and bathroom.
We also removed the original bathroom located in the central part of the house, instead creating a long tunnel of sunshine throughout the corridor of the house. All new plumbing and electrics, as well as a new kitchen and alfresco dining area ensured this house would suit many people – be they the professional, young couple or the new family or the retired couple wanting to downsize and live just 11km from the city, on the train line.
